Em's score has disappeared...........they are having technical difficulties I suspect...........or the weather?

Steven has re-tweeted Jade's tweet from right after her match which, although in reference to the upcoming doubles, has the hashtag: loveagoodchallenge

Great motto . . .

When was the last time 6 girls made a 100k outside the UK?

Not since the start of 2008, when the maximum number has been 5 - at Cagnes-sur-Mer in 2012, Johannesburg in 2011 and Midland in 2010. Given how few Brits are likely to have been in a position to get into 100Ks direct before 2008 and the fact that there are only 4 qualifying places on offer in these events, my guess is we haven't had 6 since 100K ITFs first started - I assume they can't have been going that long because a decade or two ago, a 100K prize fund would probably have been enough for a WTA main tour event.

We have only once had 6 Brits in a 100K main draw in the UK during that period (i.e. 2008 onwards), but in that case 4 of them were wild cards.

Yes, like CD, I thought Jade's hashtag said it all.

After all that 'winning in Winnipeg' last week, the transition to 'vanquishing in Vancouver' seems to be starting off really well (igmc)

Can they play in western Canada every week please? wink

Wow good work there I would have thought that would have been hard to find out.

5 Brits won today in challenger or above level from a set down all in events outside the UK that's another amazing stat I'd say.

A clean sweep of qualifiers really is a good effort.

The points for 100k qualies aren't very generous, but they are much better for the early rounds of the main draw so let's hope for continued success!

No wonder it has felt like that has kept happening today - it's because it has! biggrin

Not that hard going back to 2008 - I just searched for "100" on the week-by-week (rather than player-by-player) views of my Best 16 lists (which luckily for me come in handy for the odd thing they weren't designed for as well as for the thing they were designed for!) and it didn't take long to skim through the results. (Oops, I should retain the mystery, shouldn't I LOL)
