RE: Week 31 - Challenger ($100,000) - Vancouver, Canada (Hard)

A bit more than 24 hours, but yes, an incredible set of comebacks It's be good for our nerves if some of them could win their next matches in straight sets though

Great result from James.

And just a little word to say well done to the Irish ! McGee's been working very hard and steadily improving and posting some very solid results this year. Great for irish tennis. (and found out yesterday that Bjorn Thomson who qualified for Nottingham is only 15).

Anyway, hope McGee manages to break into the top 200 (but not by beating Wardy or Evo, of course - he can take his pick of the others, there's enough of them!).

Greg Jones had a really long match too so hopefully that'll even out - James has got to be the favourite.

Bjorn Thomson lives in Birmingham and was playing for GB until recently but now switched to Ireland - he has just played for Warwickshire summer cup.

Dan Evans kicking off vs Weintraub now, stream available on USTA pro circuit live site.

Happy to note that they've moved the camera to the opposite end of centre court now - no pipe in the way!

And that's exactly what Dan does, some strong returns bring up 0-40 and 3 BP's
CLEAN WINNER. Dan breaks to love for 4-2.

Dead right RJA, it's a world apart from last week's match, great to see.

I did not see dans match last week, but I did text him to say everybody and his dog where slagging him off
on the forum, looks like it might have had an effect.

I slagged him off last week and have no regrets about doing so as his performance was a total disgrace. He let himself down big time and pretending otherwise is not helpful. Today's match was completely different, not just the performance which was obviously very good but his attitude and demeanour on court. If he had lost this match then I wouldn't have been remotely critical because he gave it his all, which at the end of the day is all that we can ask of anyone. He was obviously up for the match, he was fiery, aggressive and intense. He berated himself after numerous bad points and celebrated good points, he played quick, as he normally does, but not at the idiotic speed of last week. This was the Dan that I love watching play tennis, this was the Dan that could be a top 100 player, this is the Dan that must surely be disgusted by the guy that played such a pathetic match last week and who obviously didn't give a toss. So can you please text him and tell him that the people slagging him last week have nothing but praise for what he has done this week and that we fervently hope that he keeps playing like this.
