It's easy to be smart after the event, but do we now think it was okay for Dan to give up the first set once he knew it was a lost cause. My own view would be that it was, as long as he used the final few games to learn from his opponent, e.g. looking for where he most often placed his returns, serves etc. I don't know if Dan did, but you'd like to think that was exactly what he was doing.
I had a feeling that Dan would win that set either to love or 1. Don't know why I also expect a tie break to decide it. If this happens I'm buying a lottery ticket tomorrow!

Andy Murray quite often tanked a few sets to win that way earlier in his career I seem to recall. Didn't do him any harm either
