That's nice of Murray to both watch and encourage the Challenger guys.

Buena suerte si esta leyendo, Evo.

And he struck the right tone as well. No OTT praise, just a bit banter and some gentle encouragement for the final.

Into the top 200 he goes! biggrin (remember a few weeks ago we only had 1 Brit in the ATP top 250? - now 3 in the top 200!)

Like JoKo, Dan managed to find a way through in straight sets even without having a great serving day [...]

And both even get a mention  in despatches on the Beeb's site! wink  Imagine!  The Beeb reporting on results in a lowly Challenger event!

guessing what happened is someone saw murrays tweet then investigated a bit more into what was happening, they also mentioned ward win in lexington too also it's quite a big challenge is it not?

Worth noting that Dan's second round victim here, Amir Weintraub, has just qualified for Montreal by beating Albert Ramos and Ivo Karlovic.

Sadly Pospisil found his serving rythym at just the wrong time. I think he had only served 2 aces until that last couple of service games but he found another 4 or 5 at the end, including 2 on MP down.

Great week for Dan though. Plenty to be proud of.

Final will be starting shortly. Pospisil is in good form and is a youngish player on the up. He starts the match as favourite but Dan has a chance if he can continue this week's form. He will however have to serve better than he did last night against Reynolds.

Just 5 British players have ever won an ATP-ranked singles match against Olivier Rochus:

2003 - Greg Rusedski - Nottingham ATP - went on to win the title
2008 - Andy Murray - Doha ATP - went on to win the title
2009 - Alex Bogdanovic - Kolding Challenger - went on to win the title
2013 - James Ward - Lexington Challenger - went on to win the title
2013 - Dan Evans - Vancouver Challenger - can he keep the run going?

Something tells me that this final won't be straight-forward for the winner. Expecting 3 sets.

Sounds like the commentator has actually been doing his homework. Both Evo's DC exploits and Muzza's tweet already getting a mention.
