i think Dan's looked the better player too but you don't get to be WR 24 when you're only 5 ft 5 inches unless you're really tenacious and a great fighter.

Dan certainly looks well up for it (he knows he's being watched LOL) - a couple of really well-constructed points in that last game and the tweener only just missed, but a close game on serve now - this is looking like the kind of match that could be decided by just one or two crucial points.

Very good match to watch. Both being smaller guys, definitely a battle of patience and out-smarting the other player.

One thing i'd like to see more from Dan would be to sneak in behind a few serves and some slice backhands. Keep some points a bit shorter and make Rochus think about what shot to hit when returning these shots

Beautiful top-spin BH down the line when Olivier was expecting the crosscourt slice. And then ye olde FH down the line - and first set to Dan !

The good old break at 5-4* and serve first in the second set smile

Dan takes the set 6-4. Some poor officiating that's for sure.
Evo just needs to keep doing what he's doing. Terrific opening point in set 2.

Excellent 1st set from Dan, glad he got his reward Of course, he won the 1st set against him in the Davis Cup tie last year too - still a long way to go (but at least he only needs one more set this time rather than two!)

Awesome from Evans having looked out of the game at 30-0, some great hitting earns the break and its 2-0 in the second.

Great way to break at the start of th 2nd set. Superb depth on the return at 30-30 and a great forehand to win the game.
