Smethurst, Milton, Pauffley, Hewitt, Slabinsky, Cox, Willis, Fitzpatrick*, Farquharson, Gabb, Carpenter, Burton, Bloomfield, Ward-Hibbert, Bambridge, Broady and Coupland should all be in the main draw. Possibly also Toby Martin.

* Fitzy is still on the acceptance list but given his recent health problems I will be surprised if he plays.

Possible wild cards include Ireland, Carter, Glasspool and Meehan.

The Qualifying draw is pretty strong for a British futures with 14 ranked players and only 1 spare slot in the draw.

Bennett seems to have had a remarkable recovery from losing his first game 1&1 to winning it 1&1 and then beating Jhun 2&0 !

Guaranteed 5 GB qualis now but hopefully 7.

Should be a lovely Brit-heavy draw.

As for qualies, I expect Malik, Orton, Lott, Peniston and Jhun to make the main draw from the qualies.

No Jonny O'Mara? I've become a big fan of his.

O'Mara injured his back at Felixstowe and is out for a few weeks. After that he is doing a training block.

And that makes me an idiot. bleh

Rooting for Peniston then, I met his dad in Ilkley a few weeks back - funnily, he can't bear to watch Ryan play. He'll watch every other game in the draw, but as soon as Ryan steps out onto court, he'll go inside and watch Sky Sports News. Really nice man though.

I must admit I was staggered to see that Bennett had "lost" 1 and 1 in the first round as it was completely at odds with his recent results.
