On a side note a certain Argentinian has been steadily climbing the WTA ranking since the Fed Cup in April, in fact she will now probably be ranked ahead of Heather on Monday, but also she has been proving that she is not just a "clay courter" as she has reached the QF's here.
no breaks till hev served at 4-5
weird umpire decision on set point over ruled and not let despite anna being two paces away, said she wouldn't reach the ball!!!!
handed the set to genie/taylor - but hev shouldntve been at 15-40 in the firstplace
Hev's scoreline about par but very strange that she didn't have 1 break point.
I think if she can somehow stay in the top 75 that will be a brilliant result for this year.
2014 will be a big year for Hev, hopefully back within the top 50 by the end of it.
Heather's first tournament of the US summer similar to Laura's, about average. She got a win on the board which is important and was competitive-ish in singles today (about the expected scoreline against Cornet). Would expect to see some week on week improvements in Heather's game as she she gets used to playing regularly on the tour again.
I didn't see the doubles today but not surprised to read that Townsend plays well - she has the game to be a top doubles player in future.
