Naomi eventually takes the first set 6-4 having saved a bp.

Naomi creating a lot of bp opportunities but struggling to convert, takes her 2nd in the second set *1-0

Two aces as Naomi holds to love 2-0* *2-1 two dfs to 30-40 then saves with an ace 3-1* *3-2 4-2* *4-3 5-3* *5-4

Jade just started 1-0* takes her 3rd bp for *2-0 long game, saves bp before 3-0* *4-0 5-0* 6-0

Naomi serves for the match, shocking game with 3 dfs, has one mp, saves 5 bps before getting broken for the first time 5-5*

Thankfully Naomi recovers to 40-40 then breaks immediately for *6-5 another mp gone, finally she wins 7-5

Jade concedes her first game, broken 2-1*

Naomi seemed fine apart from when serving for a set/the match, at which point either her opponent started playing brilliantly or Naomi's level dropped alarmingly, or a combination of the two.

Oh and that completes the clean sweep of first round singles and doubles for the GB girls biggrin.

She can - Sam, that is 6-1 3-6 5-5* ... it would no doubt be a grea help for her mental state in future matches like this if she can go on to win ... fingers, toes, eyes and big floppy ears crossed!
