Thanks Paulsi. I've just got on line again after being down in the big smoke for the weekend, but reading your report, I'm going to get down to Wrexham. Is anyone else planning on going this week?

If any of the GB girls are left on Friday, i might nip down for a couple of hours - but that is highly unlikely.

I would have liked to have seen the four w/c's play. I only saw Katie Boulter and Jessica Simpson having a hit.

No suprise in seeing Fran beat Eden 7-5 6-3

Question for those statto's out there - has Eden got any of her ranking points by winning a match?

The quick answer is yes..when she qualified last week for Woking. She won 2 qualifying rounds. Beating Bridget in the 2cd one.

If she wins today and manages a win in the MD she would be ranked as she would have 13pts from 2 tournies.

Sabrina had 13 DF's in 8 service games and in fact only held serve once in the match......................mind you Pippa had 10 DF's.

Certainly looks like Lucy's was an epic match judging by the score. I wonder how many set points & match points came and went for both players.

So 4 Brits through qualifying in the 4 expected sections, though maybe not the expected qualifiers

Tough draw which is especially harsh on impressive qualifiers Brigit Folland and Pippa Horn, drawing the top two seeds

I'm not sure what excuse Mel is going to use today, but Brigit, who was very solid yesterday, is 5-1 up first set.

Eden is also 4-2 up

Two suprise starts.

Mel fought back but Brigit won the first set 6-4.

Not over yet because Mel has broken at the start of the second.

Brigit Folland has a good 11 min youtube link - her US college application video - if anyone wants to put a face and a bit of a game to a name

Brigt won 6-4 7-5

A very big suprise, but Brigit is very capable of performing at this level. Worried about Mel now, not even qualifying for 25K's. Must be thinking of playing doubles full time or contemplating when she should pack in tennis.
