RE: Week 30 - Challenger ($50,000) - Lexington, KY, USA (Hard)

Fantastic to see Wardy win another Challenger title - he seemed very happy about it too!

He is now outright 2nd for (singles) Challengers won by Brits this century with 3 wins to Boggo's 9 (Muzz has 2, Big Arv has 2 and the rest have just 3 between them), should be top 180 in the rankings and top 150 in the Race.

Now onto Vancouver - the last place he won a Challenger singles title before today!

just catching up - fantastic result, saw some of the matches through the week and James was playing really well. Excellent confidence booster and hopefully he can pick up a few more points in Vancouver and get that ranking back to where it should be.

A real quality week from James!  Up to 179 in the rankings and worthwhile prize money as well.

I have to say that I was impressed with the quality of the stream from the USTA.  Does anybody use the streaming service from the ATP website? How do they compare?  The ATP charge £90 for the year, so it is not absolutely trivial.

Lets hope Dino stays healthy and has another few wins in Vancouver

As well as jumping 60 places to 179 in the rankings as stevemcqueen mentions, James is now 150 in the ATP race and top 30 in the year-to-date Challenger rankings (unprecedented for a Brit because they have only been going since the Challenger version of the WTF started a couple of years ago), rising 37 places to 28.

I use it. The quality is pretty good and there is a nice range of tournaments (no Grand Slams and not all of the Masters though) which is great as I don't have Sky or Eurosport any more so I'm happy to pay for something. It's just gone up by the way - I renewed last week and it's now just over £93 for the year.

Which Masters does it not cover? I thought I had seen something from all of them over the past year on the ATP site.

There used to be about 3 or 4 that weren't covered but checking the schedule going forwards, you're correct and they seem to now be covering everything Masters-wise so I was wrong on that front!

I forgot to add that some tournaments are only streamed for some of the week i.e. from quarters or semis rather than the whole tournament.

Shame that it doesnt cover the whole week - I would almost certainly get it for the advantage of seeign earlier matches in a good quality stable stream.

The USTA really excels itself in terms of coverage - I love that the website clearly links you to the mens and womens tournaments - including the upcoming TV schedule and even things like a ''Race for the USO WC bit''. Its terrific!

That is a super good result for Dan!  Let's hope he can win a few more matches and get some worthwhile ranking points.

Quick question, Bob:  how come you position the apostrophe correctly THREE times in the second "let's go", but manage to omit it THREE times in the first ("lets go")?  There's absolutely no difference grammatically. confuse

P.S.  Well done, Dino!

Ooooh, Steven, I hope that isn't seen by the grammar police. You have split your infinitive.

I hope it wasn't too painful?
