RE: Week 30 - Ireland F1 ($15,000) - Dublin (Carpet)

Tom had at least 2 match points and must have faced at least 7 overall.

That was more nail-biting than the time I was at Wimbledon in 2009 watching Tom and Stefan Sterland-Markovic come from a set down to win a junior doubles match (against a pair that included the then junior no. 1) 13-11 in the 3rd ... when Tom was easily the most unruffled player on the court, as I guess he must have been here.

Yes!! 11-9

From a set down, MPs down in the 2nd set tiebreak (surely), *2-5 down in the 3rd and multiple match points down in the 3rd set tiebreak, Tom wins 4-6 7-6(10) 7-6(9) biggrin

What a battle!  Well done, lad.    So pleased to have been worrying unnecessarily! wink

Unsurprisingly it doesn't look like being such a good day for the Brits in Dublin. Stachan and Thornton-Brown both lost their first sets.

Yes, but Strachan was 6-4 and it seems quite close (as far as one can tell).

And Adam TB lost 6-3 with a 0-8 BP converted stat !

It could all change (or not . . .)

NB congrats to Colin O'Brien yesterday as the only irishman out of 5 matches who managed to squeeze the win (at age 29, against a 32 year-old). Sam Barry doing well today so far . . .

Bruce loses 6-4 6-4 which is very respectable against Olivetti.

Adam TB wins the second set 6-3. Into a third . . .

(and Sam Barry wins for Ireland . . .)
