I don't believe it!  What on earth were his parents thinking?  That he'd somehow make his way into Irish tennis legend after wandering the Futures circuit for 10 years?  disbelief

Yes, same guy. I assume he lives in Ireland now as he often plays here. Lost in qualifying in 2011 and won a round in doubles in 2010

Ed used to post on here, around the same time that Fitzy started to do the same. Both made the top 500 in the end (I seem to remember Ed being GB no. 10 when he did so) and hopefully Fitzy still has a chance to go higher. I assume Ed is coaching now and just playing for fun when there's a Futures event here.

Greg Howe is a long way from base too - at least the temperature dip for him might not be as much as it would usually be! wink

SC has already picked out the 'name of the week'

On second thoughts, perhaps the explanation's a little more mundane:  they're admirers of a certain James Joyce... wink

Ulysses is a little more common in France (delusions of grandeur ?) - although any reasonable parent would still steer clear by a country mile.

However, I do also know several Achilles, Hippolyte, Aristide, Virgil  . . .

Since he remained on the entry list I assume he is planning to play here.

So far there have been wins for Sterland-Markovic, Strachan and Seator but defeats for Craven and Oswald (obviously Patel as well).

Sounds like Dan Cox may have a sneaky wild card here ...
