Her next opponent is the winner of Mikheeva/Kordolami which is currently proving to be a long slog of a match - the Greek Q has just pipped the second set TB to take it into a third. hashtag : it all helps!
My theory is that Dani suddenly noticed that Katie, Sophie, Manisha and Jessica all suddenly clocked up 8 or 9 points this week and so Dani thought: OK, time to shift up a gear!
This is actually Danielle's first 10K semi-final, so to get there for the loss of just 7 games (even taking into account the relatively weak field) is pretty impressive

CD - I suspect it's more to do with confidence from last week and a very weak field. No 1 seed was only ranked at 700. Danni is the seventh seed and she has generally beaten lower ranked players this year. Although the positive GB girls results around the world will help. Mikheeva is the fourth seed, but is only ranked 781 and Danni won't be too far off that soon. Kordolaimi is ranked 892 so fairly evenly ranked.

Yes, I completely agree. i was only joking about the other girls suddenly clocking up a lot of points. I just had this image (rather Charlie Brown-esque) of Dani looking over her shoulder and going 'oh, crikey'.
Given how young Dani is, it's a big tribute to her that she's kept going after a lot of pretty swift defeats. And reaped the benefits.
NB the Mik/Kor match is still going, 2-3, LONG LONG match . . .
