Week 29 - Challenger ($50,000 + H) - Granby, Canada (Hard)

Lacko remains a bridge too far for James:

QF: James Ward WR 260 lost to (1) Lukas Lacko (SVK) WR 100 (CH 44 in Jan) by 3 & 2

Rubbish first game from Lacko, solid from Wardy

Not looking good for Ward. He was broken at the start of the second set and now trails *2-4

Was always gonna be a tough ask for Wardy, i'd be surprised if Lacko doesn't go on to win the whole thing.

Indeed. I had hoped for a closer match but Lacko is a class player, too good for smallish challengers like this.

Lacko reminds me of Ferrer

Does Dino get a SE for Lexington for reaching the quarters here? Can't see him in the qualies draw (and top seed in qualies is higher ranked).

The entry was before James lost his W'Don pts, therefore he was ranked 219 at the time and will have made the cut.........assuming he's still playing of course

Good news, great job Samantha! Winnable tournament. What is her ranking will be if she win this tournament? Can she get inside 200?

No guarantees on my maths but I make it as follows: if Sam wins, that's 50 points. It'll push off one of her 4 pointers so that's a net addition of 46 which'll take her to 284 points. Which with the current rankings (i.e. not knowing how the others will be moving) would make her 201 st.
