Watched some of the Lacko match, he looked pretty solid and far superior than Bossell. Ward will need to serve well, Bossell did manage to get some joy out of the low slice which Lacko seemed to struggle with.
Excellent James has now made Challenger QFs on three different continents this year (winning the other two), will return to the top 250 and to GB no. 2 on Monday and gives us two Brits in Challenger singles QFs in the same week for the first time since September 2011 (Boggo in Tulsa & Josh Milton in Ningbo) - the time before that was the previous month, when James met Boggo in the QFs in Vancouver on the way to winning his last Challenger title.

L16: James Ward WR 260 beat (5) Matt Reid (AUS) WR 189 (CH 187 last week) by 3 & 4
QF: James Ward WR 260 v (1) Lukas Lacko (SVK) WR 100 (CH 44 in Jan)
A tough QF but a chance to avenge last year's Davis Cup loss and Lacko was on a 6-match losing streak, which included a straight sets loss to the player James beat today. However, he has had two pretty emphatic wins here.

Ward vs Lacko starting - can only watch for 15 minutes. Seems that they are playing in hurricane conditions with the wind coming from behind and from the right as we watch the match. James breaks first game, but Lacko was struggling to toss the ball throughout.
1-1. Considering the conditions, superb standard from both players. Lacko played brilliantly to edge the last game. He needed to.
