L32: James Ward WR 260 defeated Erik Chvojka (CAN) WR 330 by 6-3 3-6 6-2
Edit: I'm not going to delete the post I put up seven seconds after you, Steven, as I used today's rankings...
Weird, I was sure I'd already changed them - I've deleted my post, though then realised that the CH 204 for Chvojka less than a year ago might have been relevant, though you can take it both ways (i.e. he's almost capable of being a top 200 player when he's on form ... or he's in really bad form at the moment if he has lost over 100 places in the last 12 months!)

I watched the last 6 games Chvojka seemed to be a very limited player, James probably shouldn't have dropped a set.
I only watched the first set, and I completely agree with you. The Canadian had no weapons beyond a fairly decent first serve, and was very inconsistent.
James is a different level at his best, and even on an off day should not be dropping sets to players like this. However, it's the first match in a long North American "tour" so a little rustiness is inevitable.
James will never be top 50, but if he can make finally sort out his forehand and improve his second serve (Andy managed to do both over time, so why can't he?), he will return to the top 150 very quickly. And if he can sort out his mental demons which seem to prevent him playing freely and aggressively at pressure points in his matches this would surely see him get to the top 60 or 70.
