luckily there's not much sitting down in tennis, as long as she can put up with the changeovers!

who do you think, the player or the coach pick the tournaments?

At top level - joint effort.

At a lower level, not all players have their own coaches - shared or part of a group. However finances tends to dictate where they will play.

The medic should be able to sort it out. When I went to Africa I took a syringe device that produces a very localised near vacuum. I still use it for insect bites and stings. It can leave a slight bruise but it quickly clears the main source of irritation.

I've got one of those too, though I haven't used it yet. A very simple device and good to know that it works. smile

Hopefully it'll calm down overnight or she'll get something for it, Tara and Lisa will have a good match tomorrow, and I won't have to put "(recovering from arse injury)" on next week's T25 table wink

Tara takes the 1st set 6-1.

That means all 4 sets Tara has won against Lisa so far in ITFs have been breadsticks, though one of them was sandwiched between two much closer sets won by Lisa.

That "bite on the arse" seems to have galvanized Tara as she is 6-1 1-0* up just now.

Btw Tara's win today means that all of the GB top 5 have now picked up more than 200 points since 1 Jan:

846 Laura
385 Heather
221 Elena
218 Johanna
207 Tara (223 if she can win tomorrow)

Might taken her a while as JoKo is picking up points and there are 170pces between them. This week will help though.

JoKo will be defending 160 US Open points in a month's time and Tara wasn't ranked high enough for qualifying in 2012. If they both perform equally well in the 2013 US Open there won't be many points separating them.

Good stuff Tara :)

SHame Lisa couldn't make it more competitive but a good week for her none the less.

Hope Tara wins the final now

Tara was broken at 5-6 to lose the second set 7-5.

However excellent start from Tara who breaks to 1ead 1-0, only to be broken straight back.

Tara might need an extra rest for the doubles final
