Lisa seems to be making a concentrated effort to "have a go" as she is entered for a 100K next week and a 75K the following week.......whether she plays in them or not is of course another matter..........but I hope she does.
Fair play to Tara - i would have expected her to get through to next weekend and if she is in Canada the following week, she may not get there in time or be severely jet lagged.
This means that there are no GB girls automatically in the main draw, so just the four wildcards plus any qualifiers
Lisa has talked quite a lot lately of wanting/needing to test herself against better players so I'm not at all surprise to see her down for a $100,000 event.
On the evidence of Wimbledon qualifying, as well as today, she's capable of beating players ranked much higher than she is currently but I guess it's hard to achieve that standard consistently if you're not playing them regularly.

Yes, much the same reason as why the GB men who play Futures all the time find it tough when they try Challengers then go back to Futures, whereas someone like Alex Ward has shown that if you keep testing yourself against better players, you might just start beating them more often.

I think both players need to step up and take the risk of higher quality tournaments, especially Tara who seems to be more consistent.
Obvious statement, but a couple of good results at 75K and 100K, will see a bigger ranking jump rather than getting to QF/SF in 25K tournaments which is where they are at.
Close battle in the doubles with Moore/Sirotkina 1 coming back from a set and 5-3 deuce down against Smith/South 4 to win the 2nd set 7-6(4) and then to win the tie break [10-6]
