The Universiade (aka World University Games) is currently taking place in Kazan. I've put this in the women's section because Anna Fitzpatrick is the Brit making the most progress.
Men's singles
L64: Scott Whitbread UNR lost to Eric Johnson (USA) UNR by 4 & 4 L64: Chris Simpson UNR beat Angarag Sandag (MGL) UNR by 0 & 0
L32: Chris Simpson UNR lost to (2) Huang Liang-Chi (TPE) WR 300 by 6-3 7-6(6) Women's singles
L64: Anna Fitzpatrick WR 795 beat Miriam Nyakudzuka (ZIM) UNR by 0 & 0 L64: Daneika Borthwick WR 862 beat Nzingah Banks (ANU) UNR by 0 & 0
Double bagels were a fairly frequent occurrence in this round. ANU is Anguilla, btw.
L32: Anna Fitzpatrick WR 795 beat Anaïs van Cauter (FRA) UNR by 3 & 3 L32: Daneika Borthwick WR 862 lost to Sabrina Santamaria (USA) UNR by 0 & 2
Santamaria has a CH of 819 set in 2010 and had upset the 2nd seed, world no. 107 Kumkhum, 5 & 5 in the previous round.
L16: Anna Fitzpatrick WR 795 beat Cynthia Setyawan (INA) UNR by 1 & 4
Anna was lucky that one seed in her section (top seed & world no. 66 Shvedova) withdrew but has made the most of that good fortune - Anna's her L32 victim had upset the other seed in her 1/8th of the draw. She is now one win away from a medal, since there is no play-off for 3rd place.
QF: Anna Fitzpatrick WR 795 v (7) Katerina Vankova (CZE) WR 319 - Sunday 09.00 local / 06.00 BST
H2H 1-1 - Vankova won in straight sets when they last met on hard courts in 2007 but Anna won their last meeting in straight sets in Bournemouth last year.

Tokyo 1967 - Frances MacLennan & Nell Truman - women's bronze Kobe 1985 - Elizabeth Jones & Joy Tacon - women's silver Sheffield 1991 - Jeffrey Hunter & Mark Loosemore - men's silver Fukuoka 1995 - Nicholas Adams & Richard Holden - men's silver Fukuoka 1995 - Samantha Smith & Paul Robinson - mixed silver Daegu 2003 - Iain Bates & Jim May - men's gold Belgrade 2009 - Max Jones & Dominic Inglot - men's silver Belgrade 2009 - Samantha Murray & Dominic Inglot - mixed bronze
(*) the records just say "Truman" - my first guess was Christine Truman (who was of course a later medallist's mother) but this was a few years after she won Roland Garros, so it seems unlikely to be her. Maybe it was though - I remember Judy Murray saying she played Virginia Ruzici at this event many years ago when Ruzici was in the top 10!
