Well I thought Daniell would be very dangerous having seen his style and quality of play at Notts but still gutted for Tom, so close to his first title.

I'd like to claim full 'credit' for tweeting "Ilkley 10K Final: Tom is 4-3* up in the 2nd set but still hasn't had any break points in the match. Daniell converted 1 bp from 7 in the 1st" at the last changeover ... but then I'd have to take full 'responsibility' for all the times the opposite kind of thing happens. LOL

Laugh, and the world laughs with you: Weep, and you weep alone . . .
Very good consistency from Tom with his 7th Futures SF or better of the season. A concern in terms of his ultimate potential would be the fact that he lost in the first 5 of those SFs, and although he reached the F in the last 2 Futures, he lost both of those as well.
I guess we are all looking for players that, when they are playing at their very best over an entire week, can go on to WIN......perhaps an Ashley Hewitt, a Dan Evans, an Ed Corrie or equivalent......rather than those who are very solid and hard to beat, and can rack up ranking points.
Still at this rate, he could do rather well next week, and maybe make the breakthrough then

I could name another Brit that lost his first 4 GS finals. He seems to be doing alright now
I wonder if we can claim Marcus Daniell as an honorary Brit. After all he trains in Britain (Bath to be precise), his semi regular doubles partner is a Brit (Richard Gabb) and I think he shares a coach with a Brit (again Richard Gabb).
