There was a half hour break between the 1st match and 2cd for some reason. hoping it doesn't happen again.

Great hold from Naomi from 0-30, great defence to win one point then followed by a screaming backhand winner dtl and then an inside out forehand dtl. Missed backhand to get taken to deuce but then two unreturnable serves. Naomi 5-2*.

They have been adjusting play due to high temperatures with a 10am morning start and a 7PM evening start. Temperatures seem to have been as high as 43C in parts of California.
