Well, Marcus seems to be doing well : 6-2, 4-0 JWH and Klein are absolutely head-to-head 4-4 and Lewis is one set up and a break up in the second.

Stop press: JWH has broken and will serve for the set (go, lad!)

Edit : but, no, broken back . . .

Shhh has three of his four wishes granted - at least at the quaret-final stage:

Would like to see Josh, Tom, Lewis and Richard make the semis, continue the new wave that seem to be picking up the points this year

Josh got broken, had a break-back point and Klein served an ace. Good for him (begrudgingly). Now time to restore order Josh.

I like what I read about the Malik brothers but I was pleased for Lewis. Saw him play at the Wimbly qualies and though he was always going to lose (against Dustin Brown ! No shame there!) he put up a good show, posted a good score and played well.

So, will this be the highest ever aggregate UK points score for a futures event? A question for Steven, I think!

We've had all 8 quarters finalists before, back in the days Mark Hilton was playing.  I think it may have happened at 15k events as well??????

Just saw this - in fact it is less than a year since it last happened - Nottingham 10K last September http://www.atpworldtour.com/posting/2012/3538/mds.pdf

However, GB will end up with more points here - 53 out of a possible 56 compared to 51 in Nottingham last September, where 'only' 11 Brits made R2, and 27 in Manchester last year, when Olivetti won the title. There have been two 50-point hauls from 10K Futures in the last 12 months as well - Roehampton last summer and Shrewsbury in March.

The biggest GB (singles) points haul from a Futures event in the last 12 months was 72 from London-Cumberland 15K last summer (12 in the last 16, as here, 7/8 QF-ists and all-GB SFs), followed by 53 from Wrexham, i.e. the same number of points as this week but from a 15K instead of a 10K so it was nowhere near as GB-dominated.
