Tara playing very well and extremely unlucky to have been broken, due in part to a stupidly late and wrong line call (ace called out when it was clearly in and Kanepi had already walked half-way to the other service side).
Didn't see the match but all the comments seem to suggest that she played really well throughout, barring a minor (and understandable) mini wobble near the winning post. Fantastic!
Kiri was well below her best, but it was still a stunning performance by Laura, next round hopefully won't feel like an anti climax, as probably will be scheduled for court 2.
Wish I could be watching Tara's match. Tried watching on my phone and caught one point - Tara rushing the net to hit a series of volleys - before my 3G cut out...
It's a good match. Tara even seems to be enjoying it.
Yes, I know each player has their own way of expressing themself on the court but it is so nice to see Tara laughing at the lucky breaks and making faces !
Yes, agreed. I was impressed with Joko, and Tara looks good too. Let's hope that this can propel GB forward as well as inspire a few lower ranked players.
Interested to hear that Tara also spent six years at Bollieteri's academy, as well as being half Hong Kongese. As someone put on this board awhile ago, all of our top players represent our country, but have very strong foreign ties.
I'm glad Robbo's proved me wrong. I only hope she carries on at a fair level and doesn't go into self destruct mode the next match.
