Why do we have to have Wade commentating??

I don't mind Wade, but her co-commentator Chris is useless.

True she wasn't as bad today as she usually is... although she does make me laugh with her comments!

Stunning performance from Laura today - if she could string a few even close to that level together, who knows what she could achieve.

And now it's Tara time ...

Kerber in 2011, Safarova in 2012 and Kirilenko today - Virginia Wade commentated on all of them. Keep her on, she is obviously a good luck charmbiggrin

I had a quick look at the provisional rankings with last year's Wimbledon points removed last night and Laura was up to 30th, so today's win should consolidate this and may move her even higher.

A good run this week and she had great chances to progress further could push her right up the rankings.

Tara looks a lot fitter than the last time I saw her on T.V in 2010.

I don't think that's right but I think she's 'virtual' top 30 after today's win. I'd expect her to end up around 33-35 with the number of points she has now, but hopefully she won't stop here!

Just got in and seen Laura's result. Great news.

Let's hope she manages to maintain this form against the lower ranked opponents - something she hasn't always been able to do.

I currently have her at 32nd, one place ahead of Venus Williams. She is also currently level on points with Peng, her potential third round opponent.
