I hear what you're saying, Jake, but I'm simply asking for realism. The reality is that a good Challenger-level player - which Mr Ward is - can knock out someone in the top 100 - which he has done at various points. So it's not a question of foregone conclusions. But, at the same time, rankings do a pretty decent job, for people who aren't just starting out or suffering/recovering from injuries, of reflecting and predicting results. So the great part is that, as at the Davis Cup, it's possible for someone like Mr Ward to knock out someone much more highly ranked. Or, as happened today, to play a really close match. But when the latter happens, I'd be more inclined to note the positives ... while at the same time being honest about what clearly needs to improve ... rather than just the negatives.
The occasions when Mr Ward has failed to close must be unspeakably frustrating for him; he must know that his style of play could get him much higher, if he could just get over the hurdle on the big points. Hope that someone, somewhere can help him with that.

Very poor from bbc only two games to watch fed or azarenka is it going to be like this for the tournament thought we were getting 10 courts? Having to watch Kyle online which isn't ideal. Fed will be done in 90 mins.
Janowitz in control early on and breaks 3-2. Kyle doesn't look too comfortable
Funny, I was thinking that Jerzy didn;t look too comfortable (a handful of DF and all). Guess the break made him feel better though. But he's nothing if not unpredictable . . .

I agree it's total mince. Kyle hasn't even been mentioned yet on TV. Any casual tennis fans would be unaware a young British male is on court. First set gone 6-2.
