No sign of any change in the scoreline for the last 20 minutes or so, so even though the live scoreboard doesn't say so, I guess play has been suspended for the day.  Best of luck when play resumes tomorrow, boys.

Third set down the pan by 3-6. cry

At 10-10 on serve in the fifth, Murray/Peers v Melzer/Blake is something of an epic.

Murray and Peers survive from 15-40. They hold and it is 10-10* in the fifth.

And now 11-11. Just noticed that they'd scheduled five matches for that court ... looks like some schedule shifting may be in the offing.

They held out for a long time, but, sadly, were the first to blink:

R1:  James Blake & Jürgen Melzer (USA/AUT) WR 218 defeated Jamie Murray & John Peers (AUS) WR 120 by 3-6 6-3 6-4 3-6 14-12 cry

They must feel absolutely crushed to lose a marathon like that!

But they capture the fourth by 7-6(5) to take the match into a decider! smile

Terribly sorry for Murray and Peers; that's a tough one to lose. But they certainly go out with honour. Delighted for Mr Skupski and Mr Malisse - hoping for a good fifth set.

Not sure that will have done Melzer too much good ahead of playing Janowicz in the R16 of the Singles!

Wish he'd thought about that before he threw himself heart & soul into that doubles match! furious

In fairness 3-4 hours in doubles is not the same as 3-4 hours in singles so I would imagine that after a day off tomorrow he will be fine on Monday.

Another valiant, but ultimately disappointing, effort:

R2:  (5) Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi & Jean-Julien Rojer (PAK/NED) WR 25 defeated Xavier Malisse (BEL) & Ken Skupski WR 138 by 6-3 6-7(1) 6-3 6-7(5) 8-6 cry

I absolutely despair, honestly I absolutely despair.

Colin and Jonny's third round match is being played on non-televised court No7. What is wrong with the people who make decisions like this?

A summary of the Brit survivors after the "carnage" of the third round:

R3:  (1) Bob Bryan & Mike Bryan (USA/USA) WR 1 vs (16) Treat Huey (PHI) & Dominic Inglot WR 67
R3:  (9) Colin Fleming & Jonny Marray WR 42 vs (6) Robert Lindstedt & Daniel Nestor (SWE/CAN) WR 27

To be the best, you have to beat the best...
