Messrs Rice and Thornley lose first set 6-4 ... so close in that final game!

They qualified to Wimbledon two years and lost first round to Murray/Stakhovsky. This is however their first 5 set match as that previous match was curtailed to best of 3 because of weather.

Some good tiebreaks going on.

Colin and Jonny take the first set 7-6

Dave and Sean save match points in the 3rd set to come back and win it on a tiebreak. Into the 4th then

Come on all of them

And they claim the fourth by 6-4 to take match into a tie-break-less decider:  1-0*.  biggrin

Colin & Jonny dropped the second set by 6-4.  2-1* in the third, so probably quite a way still to go there.

Colin & Jonny capture the third set by 6-3 to move into a two sets to one lead.  Just one more set, boys, .

David and Sean need to pull it out of the bag again.

Now 3-4* down in the decider.

Sadly, not to be for Dave & Sean:

R1:  Marinko Matosevic & Frank Moser (AUS/GER) WR 235 defeated (WC) David Rice & Sean Thornley WR 420 by 6-4 6-3 6-7(7) 4-6 6-4 cry

Good effort, though.

Would have loved Messrs Rice and Thornley to win ... but if you're going to lose, that's at least putting up the good fight.

And Fleming/Marray win: 7-6, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. Well done.
