Horrible draws and I am struggling to see a winner here!!
Yes, much worse draws than the men in general. I was hoping Lisa would get a decent one having just missed out on a main draw WC, but she definitely hasn't!

Although overall the draws are tougher than average, at least there are 3 players there who have yet to win a match on grass I think (Mrdeza, Pereira, Schmiedlova). Pity that none of them are playing Lisa or Naomi though, who I think would be the most likely to take advantage.
Would be a fantastic effort by any of the women to get a win here, but out of 8 matches there will probably be at least one upset. I'm not brave enough to call which one either!
I thought we would get 3 in the men's today Baker Evans and Rice so fairly close. Sadly I'm in the 0 camp for the ladies. If we got 2 through that would be great. Best chance Naomi and maybe Katy.
Not looking too good is it - generally tough draws and to a large extent, those most likely to take advantage of a half-decent draws have got the toughest ones and those with slightly less daunting opponents are the Brits we'd be least likely to refer to as grass court specialists.
I'm still hoping for one or two upsets though and with 40 points at stake for a single win, any wins here will make a big difference to our players' rankings.

I also can not see anyone with a clear chance of winning, but would hope for one or two upsets as well. For those possible upsets I am going to go with Mel and Jade. Mel because she seems to be in form just now and Peer is not and Jade because she has been determinedly working towards this. Would be more than happy though if any of the girls manages to win.
i think jade and naomi have decent chances... + clearly vania king is a great player but she doesn't have the best record on grass so perhaps lisa has an outside chance as well... can't really see anyone else winning unfortunately
