L16: (7) Tom Farquharson WR 611 lost to Tak Khunn Wang WR 647 3-6 5-7

One could say that it all went Wang for Tom at the end, losing 5 games in a row from 5-2 up.

Odd, this year at least, to see Tom lose to a lower-ranked player, but Wang didn't play in the 2nd half of last year, won a Futures event in India earlier this year and has now made the QFs at 5 of his last 6 events.

For the sake of completeness, Tom & partner lost in the first round of the doubles:

R1:  Diego Garcia & Laurent Malouli (FRA/FRA - Diego Garcia is a Frog?!! disbelief ) UNR defeated Tom Farqharson & Rodrigo Pérez (CHI) UNR by 6-2 3-6 [10-4]

Their opponents then received a walkover into the SF from the third seeds, Gavin van Peperzeel & Torstein Wietoska, followed by a further walkover into the final from the second seeds, Dorian Descloix & Davy Sum,... disbelieffurious

Oh, I like that one, Steven.   Very clever!    I knew there was something vaguely familiar about the name... wink
