Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I changed the formula a *tiny* bit. The last value simply being 500/# of entrants = 500/156 ~ 3pts (rounded, of course) The new points were no more than 2 points off for each entrant from what you had. But, it's still a significant difference though (the total of all differences still was around 50). I couldn't quite match your previous values, which is why the change is there. I was running out of time so had to make a quick decision and I didn't know whether or not you'd be able to get back to me as well... :/ But, yea... did you round up or down or just use the simple round or trim or...?

Re. the 500 to 1 or 500 to 500/n issue, there are good arguments either way. The reason I went for 1 is because it made it obvious on the ranking points table who had finished as the 'lanterne rouge' (i.e. last place) in past tournaments. Typical BOTB 'cruelty' wink

I worked them out as follows:

ADJPOS =  finishing position + 0.5 * (no. of entrants finishing in that same position - 1)

So, for example, if 4 people finish 50th=, POS = 50 + 0.5 * (4-1) = 51.5

POSPTS = 1 + 499 * ((no. of entrants - ADJPOS) / (no. of entrants - 1)) ... rounded to the nearest integer (i.e. .49999 down, .50000 up)

BONPTS = (20 * (entrant's score as % of maximum possible score - average score as % of maximum possible score)) ... rounded to the nearest integer

TOTPTS = POSPTS + BONPTS

 Aha! It's your ADJPOS that was throwing the numbers off from what I had! I'll do a comparison & see if I can match them, when I get the chance... If I can, I'll change the results tables. I won't do it until after Wimbledon though, as those points only affect the year-round ranking and can be changed later when/if you do those rankings. ;)

Well, there was almost a sting in the tail.

Congrats to Team BT on their win - even though I was denied late entry into their country on a visa violation.

Just need Muzza to win now.

LOL and there I was thinking that was the most obvious bit! wink

I think Djokovic's got this now! Which will mean... BT wins 'Teams League'! ;)

BT's doing well! Too bad Bob had to go all independent on the team... tsk tsk tsk!
Can't wait for Sunday!!!

Unaccumstomed as I am to ............

Aagh. Forget that rubbish. GO MUZZA !!!!

If I am not mistaken, a Djokovic win would put Steven and myself on the same points but differentiated by count back. Under the circumstances however, I am sure Steven will agree with me that we don't want it to come to that.

Definitely not. Gutted already that I'd be going into the Final with a chance of winning this if I'd let my heart overrule my head!

You have no idea how badly I want to change your picks just to give you that win! lol

But, I think at least one other entrant will follow that by suddenly appearing behind me with a bow & arrow if I were to attempt that... A certain someone who apparently isn't even in Spain despite the suggestion of his username! confuse

Anyway, in the spirit of BOTB, which really does torture you for picking with your brain over your heart (or vice versa! It's all torture either way! haha), I will keep all picks & teams the same...

But, come on! Murray winning would be awesome either way! ... Right?

Nah. After all your much appreciated efforts there is no way I would shoot you in the back like that - I would do it face to face wink

Bob in Brazil (for another 4 weeks anyway)

Hey Guys,

Congratulations on Andy winning! Congrats on winning both team comps as well!

Also congrats to Bob in Spain & Korriban for taking home the top 2 place finishes! Well done!

Any suggestions for any honourable mentions for the competition's awards ceremony?

Here's an example: Steven finishing in the top 10 and almost winning after years of hosting BOTB!

Results will be up shortly with the awards! wink
