Just looked at the current standings. What on earth am I doing so high up the list. Can't believe it and I know it won't last.

Still kicking myself over the Tipsy v Troicki result as well. So nearly put that down as an upset but lost my bottle just before clicking send and went back to change it.

You're down to 3rd place but anything's possible with the way the tournament's going! Everything's up-to-date (more or less)! See my signature for the links.

Wow. I was actually in the lead ? I didn't even know. In fact, the first time I looked, it took me so long to find my name on the list because I started looking from the bottom up !!

But as you say, still plenty of time to go back down to where I belong !!

Well, doesn't look like it's going to happen! You should get used to starting from the top... at least for a round or 2! ;)

Did my best to catch you up, but I think it's up to you now to uphold the honour of the Board!

Eek - just noticed where I am. Bob & I should both have played for BT this time (I said to T3nnisfan that I would if it would make no difference to my old team being a full team, but sadly it did) ... I would love to move up to 1st place on Friday (I need Nole, Muzz & Ferrer wins) and then drop like a stone on Sunday!

Aha !  So that is you sneaking up behind me.  Saw that it was a different team and therefore assumed it was a different "Steven" as well.  I should have realised that there is only ever "one Steven" and then they broke the mould wink

So let the battle commence.  I will speak to you again after the final on Sunday - but not before. smile

Delpo - Delpo - Delpo - Delpo - Delpo - Delpo - Delpo - Delpo - Delpo - Delpo - Delpo - Delpo - Delpo

Bob I think you should have played for this board instead of going individual. We would be even more in the lead than we are now.

Of course buoyed by your success here you will play for us next time and not do so well (the GEM effect).

It is looking very tight at the top at the moment.  It could all come down to the final.  Perhaps we should send a link to Muzza and he could use the possibility of helping me win BOTB as an extra motivation wink

Think I need wins from Muzza, Nole and Delpo tomorrow but can't remember for sure what I put for the Delpo v Ferrer match.  Then a Nole v Muzza final and a Muzza victory would see me nicely thank you.

I think the only other time I tried BOTB I came about 241st !!  That sounds like gorilla territory to me.

Yes you picked Del Potro. You probably should cheer him into the final to be honest!

Can't argue with that for so many reasons. Delpo has a new fan - until Sunday at least.

Regretting my 'safe' picks now.

I was worried about Andy's back (and wanted some interest left in Wimbledon if he had to pull out) - now of course I'm regretting it, firstly because I think the Final is too close to call if the top two get there and secendly because if they do both make the Final, winning BOTB for the first time for years would leave me absolutely gutted, whereas not having picked Andy to win a time he actually did would have me kicking myself very, very hard! That's what I call a lose, lose situation. LOL

Equally I was worried about del Po simply because he's del Po (it's that permanently apologetic "so sorry I ****ed up up your BOTB predictions" look that does it), but now he has reached the QFs, I'd bet on him to beat Ferrer.

@steven, Mr Rusedski says he never heard of you. no Can you believe that? He wanted you out of his bar but was promptly reminded by a regular BOTBer (getting drunk to forget the latest results) that he must have at least 5 members at all times, otherwise he risks losing his liquor permit.

I know, I was sitting 2 seats away from him on Monday ohn Court 19 on Monday and he didn't know me from Adam LOL

But oh Ferrer, that great H2H record against del Potro and you can't even beat him when he's got a dodgy knee the time I really needed you to. cry Where's the punishment box?

^ True story! :P

Ya, it's a darn shame you didn't play for BT. Also a shame you didn't go for Murray! I doubt you'd be gutted by winning this BOTB! ha!  And I bet you'd love it if Andy won regardless of the BOTB outcome... especially considering this Replacement BOTB only exists in our minds, which makes it real, but only as real as... say, the Matrix...

On that note:

@Bob in Spain, your immigration papers were rejected by IN while you were in between flights. You have 2 choices: re-apply for IN or take the next plane to BT. What say you? biggrin

Btw, I started a blog to write updates/commentary/analysis on BOTB instead of tweeting, which I got annoyed with after just a week! lol

It's all in the same location, on the horizontal navigation bar at the top. Commenting is ON so feel free :)

But immigration is going to have to find me first as I am not in Spain right now. Rumour is that I may be hiding out in Moscow airport but I neither confirm nor deny that one wink

Next plane to BT will be fine thanks, as long as the natives don't object smile
