So far, all the GB matches have had the winners I expected ... in the remaining two, I was expecting Evo to win and Ed to lose.
Ed has just taken the 2nd set 7-5 v Marchenko
Evo is 1-5* down to MdlN
Ed, well, doing an Ed. Never going to blow someone away, but hard to beat.
Dan. Please tell me he has prepared 100% in the correct way for this match - a match most of us would expect him to win well (even against a higher ranked opponent). The first set scoreline, against a clay-courter opponent, has a lot of the "shock factor" similarity to that match against Ashley Hewitt at the recent Newcastle $10k, when Dan may or may not have been fully prepared to play.
Looking a bit deeper, MdlN has a 4-4 record in Wimbledon qualies, so he's not another Pella. Not someone you'd expect Dan in his current form to take bakery products off either though, obviously. MdlN lost from a set up in QR1 last year (to Kudla) but went an early break up in the 2nd too. Dan has just broken back though. 1-6 *1-1

Really impressed with Ed's effort so far, albeit only following the live scores. He seems to struggle to hold on most games but in the end he's been succeeding most times against an really high quality opponent. He just keeps battling. I really hope he finds a way to pull off the win, it would be fantastic for him.
