All being well I will be heading down for the first round matches. Pleased to see that the organisers have scheduled all British matches on courts 13-16 which I assume are close together (never been to Roehampton before).
I think whoever looses between Devvarman and Reid should be given the lucky looser spot their up to 15 -14 now in fact they should both be given places in the main draw as whoever wins this won't recover in time for their next match

They only play 3 sets in qualifying though. And why should a 1st round loser be given a spot in the main draw? I'm a bit confused.
Anyway, the story so far:
QR1: (wc) Lewis Burton WR 674 lost to Dustin Brown (GER) WR 187 (CH 89 in 2011) by 4 & 3 QR1: (wc) Alex Bogdanovic WR 274 beat Marek Semjan (SVK) WR 280 (CH 218 in 2010) by 7-6(5) 6-3 QR1: (wc) Jamie Baker WR 304 beat (q17) Matteo Viola (ITA) WR 138 (CH 118 in Mar) by 4-6 6-3 6-4 QR1: (wc) Josh Goodall WR 303 lost to Samuel Groth (AUS) WR 230 (CH 189 in Mar) by 6-4 7-6(6)
QR2: (wc) Alex Bogdanovic WR 274 v Evgeny Korolev KAZ WR 175 (CH 46 in 2010) QR2: (wc) Jamie Baker WR 304 v Igor Kunitsyn (RUS) WR 208 (CH 35 in 2009) (*)
(*) H2H 1-2 but Jamie won their last meeting 6 & 3 at last year's Athens Challenger, so must surely fancy his chances here. The Russian only seems to be playing one event per month this year.
Marchenko has won 3 games in a row to go from a break down to a break up against Ed & JWH has just lost the 1st set 6-4.

QR1: (wc) David Rice WR 465 beat Sebastian Rieschick (GER) UNR (CH 199 in 2011) by 3 & 2 QR1: (wc) Josh Ward-Hibbert WR 774 lost to Alex Kuznetsov (USA) WR 173 by 4 & 4
QR2: (wc) David Rice WR 465 v (q24) Flavio Cipolla (ITA) WR 140 (CH 70 in 2012)
Dave will need a career best win to oust Cipolla (who is 0-2 in Wimbledon main draws) but I wouldn't count him out!

I wasn't sure he'd qualify but I expected him to win a round or two in qualifying. To be fair, I know nothing about his opponent, and these days Spaniards who are good on clay can often adapt their games pretty quickly to the slower grass surfaces. For Dan, there is much more to the year than Wimbledon, at 23 he must now knuckle down and look to increase his ranking by at least 100 places before the end of the year if he wants to have a top class career

What a let-down from Dan today. I really thought he would win convincingly, but he was 1 set down before he had time to settle. Will be very interesting to hear from those forum members who were at the event itself.
I noted that at *2-5 (which let's face it, is only 1 break down) he lost the next 4 points on serve, and I'm painting a picture in my mind of him having given up and just going through the motions. Please someone tell me that it was brilliant play again from the Spaniard.
I'll wager that if this had been a DC match, and if he'd been man-marked 24/7 by the LTA support team in the days after his excellent Queen's exploits, this would have been a win....even if his opponent did play well today. I guess we'll never know. In just a few days back in Birmingham he managed to acquire a large new tattoo and get into another twitter battle/rant, but at the end of the day it's his own choice as to how he lives his life, whether that's compatible with a pro career or not.
Hope he puts it behind him and moves onward and upwards (in the rankings), although if he isn't entered in any tournaments, that might present a practical problem!!!
I give him a 10% chance of winning today's doubles with Lewis now.

Well bit of a mixed bag today. Did think Dan would win that and to think most people were screamign he should get a MDWC. If you can even win a quallies matach against a spaniard you ain't gonna do much in the MD
To be fair to Dan, beating Nieminen at Queen's suggests he could have done something in the main draw.
However, while it wasn't a huge shock that he lost this, it's one he really should have won if he has designs on breaking into the top 200.
