Close, but sadly, not quite close enough:

Final:  (1) Alexander Peya & Bruno Soares (AUT/BRA) WR 2 (Race) defeated (4) Colin Fleming & Jonny Marray WR 33 (Race) by 3-6 6-3 [10-8]

Enjoyable match nevertheless.

Ouch

Marray's serve just deserted him at the end of the match. Three double faults to concede the break in the second and another two in the MTB.

Disappointing.

I wonder whether Colin might try to find a new partner after Wimbledon - 2 titles this year with different partners, only this final with Jonny Marray.

I would still like to see Jonny back with Freddie, but not going to happen

I wouldn't have thought so. They have played 9 tournaments so far but 4 of them were on clay where I doubt that they really expected to do too much. Their development as a pair has also been hindered by first Jonny missing a few weeks with an injury and then Colin having a few weeks off to get over a niggling injury problem. All being well they should do pretty well at Wimbledon. Should at least make the 3rd round and QFs or SFs is quite possible.

And yes Colin did win two tournaments with other people but in both cases he had a very, very good partner both of whom do have regular partners. Also in the case of Auckland they has a very nice route to the title.

Ross Hutchins is hoping to be back for the Australian Open and if he is, then Colin will link up with him again.

If anyone watched any tennis at Eastbourne today (Lopez v Dodig was playing alongside the doubles) it was VERY windy even for Eastbourne, so to see the double faults isn't surprising as watching the single's match, balls were flying all over the place.

Very tempted to put a bet on Marray/Fleming winning Wimbledon. You heard it here first

Watched the CTB when it was shown after the women's final on BBC2 a short while ago.  Hard to take, knowing about Jonny's three double faults. cry
