Congrats to Oli on his win.

A LL spot for Alex wouldn't go amiss either  wink

Oli wins. Alex smashes his racquet 3 times, breaks it, then hurls it towards the umpire's chair.

Are we proud for these 2 to be representing GB in front of Italian children and adults? Do we think that this behaviour is learned when hanging around others who do it? Really unpleasant stuff.

Not nice at all.

Maybe they've been watching Miss Watson!

Wasn't aware of Alex's behaviour at the end. Maybe I should withdraw my comment about the LL spot. I thought he was better than that.

She was recovering from a major illness. Probably delirious. Doesn't count! smile

I didn't realise Alex was a racket smasher, though I imagine losing to Oli may be as annoying as it gets!

The top two seeds won so Alex is first in line for a LL place. I hope he gets one.

FQR: (q8) Oli Golding WR 530 beat (q3) Alex Ward WR 410 by 7-5 0-6 6-4 biggrinbleh

L32: (Q) Oli Golding WR 538 v (1) Filippo Volandri (ITA) WR 114 (CH 25 in 2007)

No LL places yet. Alex may yet be quite glad he didn't win today if a better place opens up during R1!
