Bant got a double bagel. No surprise as he is so far out of his depth here that it is unreal.

Liam won 6-1 6-4, thought it may be closer than that.

Mr Russell's MTO (there's no point whatsoever thinking it could ever have been Richards's) seems to have done the trick nicely......whatever problem he had which required a trainer to be called seems to have cleared up miraculously.

Good to see Liam winning. I did think by now he'd be ranked in the 300's at least and getting the odd big scalp. Anyone know what's been going on there? is it just loss of confidence?

Liam has been struggling with shoulder and arm problems for a while.

re jonny O, RJA 's guess is 100% correct. jonny is a little frustrated today to say the least!

Meanwhile Gabb faded losing 6-2 2-6 1-6

Josh and Neil have early breaks

Neil P had 2 set points on the Bogomolov serve at 5-3* but not this time.

Now he has a chance to serve out the set at *5-4

Even more so now as his potential opponent retired...

Well, I'm not going to harp on about Dan Evans ad infinitum but, if Liam Broady is really acting like a spoilt brat on the court, in front of the public, while actually playing the tennis that we are funding him to play, then maybe the LTA should look again at their funding policy and whom they wish to support and whom they wish to sanction.

I don't expect players to act like choirboys (on or off the court) but I actually have far less time and sympathy for those who act disgracefully ON the court than those who mess up a bit off the court (criminal stuff aside).

And Liam can hardly claim that he needs to act like that in order to get the adrenalin pumping and play well - chance would be a fine thing.
