2½ hours against a top ten player, at the height of their rankings, who is well proven on grass, just 6 points the difference. Wimbledon draw, please be kind, and Bally can surely win a round or two.

First set Wozniacki - a single break in the set, aided by 2 Laura DF in the game. Agree with Andrew Cotter on BBC though that Laura had slightly shaded the match until that point. Very hard watch though, as everything is a bit staccatto and random. There's no flow or pattern to the match - as with many of Laura's outings. Laura 4-6

I always find watching Caroline Wozniacki play one of the most depressing and negative experiences......running after the ball and pushing it back in play with almost no risk until the opponent beats herself. I'm not denying there's tremendous skill and desire involved, but as a tennis spectator, there's no joy or ambition whatsoever. A bit like the catenaccio tactics of the Italain football teams of the 1960s and 1970s to strangle the opposition......effective, but stultifyingly boring. And of course if you had to choose a perfect "victim", it would be a Robson or a Kvitova.
Please stop beating yourself, Laura, PLEASE! Be patient!
