Wild Cards............Wimbledon recently have given far more to non home nation than the other 3, do the others get as much stick? I'm not sure?

Play Offs..........Fitzy has pulled out with illness

If Dan has misbehaved, probably in his interests not to take a wildcard.
British tennis player ranked in top300 in 'incident' is not much news.
British wild card player as Wimbledon in unprofessional spat before event is news.
Thus, not taking a wild card takes some steam out of the news for him.

20K first round money is a big fine.

Here's hoping the talking with the racket continues!

Does the opponent get a bye or is there a list of reserves ?

Former top 10 player, who's very popular with media and fans, just back from long term injury I guess. AELTC have a history of giving players like that WCs, along with those who do well in the grass lead-up events.

Castle and Lloyd (commentating on Mahut v Murray) think the play-off is for one place in the main draw.

Do these two actually bring anything of value to the BBC's tennis coverage?

Andrew Castle - There is a Wild card play-off happening at Roehampton at moment. 16 draw for just one place.

John Lloyd - Are they actually playing on grass though, if not it's pointless

Andrew Castle - Whoevers gets through will have the biggest payday of their career, £21k for a first round lose.

Arrgghh - these people are clueless

Andrew Castle on the ball as always :

"16 man draw for one ( emphasised LOL ) place"

..and John Lloyd apparently doesn't know differently.

It's two places, chaps !

I see I wasn't the only one listening & cringing. Why do they even bring it up if they don't know anything about it?!

Ha Ha, I was giving him the doubtful benefit of meaning £21K for anyone who eventually reached the main draw, but...
