If the QWC decision for Evo is irreversible (surely it can't be) that is beyond crazy.

Not only is it a big snub, it prevents our DC hero, who is playing VERY well on grass, and who already has made the L16 at Queen's with huge TV and press coverage from playing at Eastbourne (where a QWC would have been absolutely fine), and forcing him into Qualies at Wimbledon instead. It's madness.

If Wimbledon has some class (which they always do), they will upgrade him to a MDWC later today, citing his excellent performances in DC and at Queen's.

Evo should definately be granted an upgrade. what a great effort and on these performaces surely he has a chance to sneak a few win 'Draw depending' in the main draw!!!

I was never as sure as some that Evo would get a MD WC based largely on his Davis Cup exploits. But I do think he has now made his case so much stronger. Give the guy a MD WC !

Could it be that they didn't want to be seen to be breaking their 250 rule ? Can't show favouritism and all that.

Well today's win should push Dan back inside the top 250 which gives them the perfect excuse for the "upgrade".

well, I'm obviously NOT wishing it, but there would be a glorious irony if Murray lost to Mahut (quite possible) and the only remaining Brit in round 3 was someone not even playing the main draw at Wimbledon.

There is a reciprocal arrangement between Roland Garros and the AO to grant each other's players a MDWC and QWC each for the "other" Grand Slam. So the FFT and Tennis Australia can decide which of their own players gets "their" MDWC and QWC. At Roland Garros, Tennis Australia opted for John Millman for MDWC and Nick Krygios for QWC. Millman pulled out injured and on the same day TA announced they wanted to upgrade Kyrgios to MDWC and choose a new QWC. Classy decision.

If they can do it, so can Wimbledon/LTA.

Get on with it and upgrade him to MDWC TODAY, and take the plaudits from the press and general public alike for responding to his superb performances.....everyone wins......the LTA looks "tough" because it stuck rigidly to its 250 criterion (except a talented junior in Kyle), yet shows the grace and flexibility to reward success, and the savvy to act quickly.

Dan should def get a wild card, he deserves one more than any other British player!

But it isn't a "250 rule". The wording this year is actually much clearer than before in allowing for added exceptional cases.

Evo deserves a WC and then maybe David Rice could have a deserved Q WC ( in very good form and 5th top British ranking points scorer this year ).
