But if they have to go to the next Q direct entry names on the list then so be it.

And they do have to.

Fair enough. Guess he better win tomorrow then.

Or,, otherwise, as Lisa Whybourn said in her very honest and straight-forward interview that Embee posted, you can be 'hugely disappointed' but you've only got yourself to blame for not being at the right ranking at the right time.

I seem to remember Fitzy losing in the final round of the playoffs last year (Chris Eaton, I think) but there was a drop out from Qualifying and he was given a type of LL spot.

Not sure if the drop out was one of the other WCs - hence leaving a WC spot open - or someone through to qualies on ranking.

Having said that, my brain is so frazzled at the moment, I could be imagining the whole thing.

Luke Saville was supposed to get a QWC (reigning Junior Champ) but he had entered a tournament in the same week so couldn't be given the wild card and Fitzy got it instead.

I really hope Dave beats Klein, but fear that he may well not.

Re Q WCs are there definitely just 8 in total ( which would thus be the 6 already awarded plus 2 PO winners ) ? And hence no additional room ( unless any Q WCs get upgraded ) for PO semi final losers.

I know that it is 8 MD WCs, but not sure that it is just 8 Q WCs.

Well done, Bob in Spain's brain ! RJA confirms that you are not having a senile moment (although seemingly it won't help Dave if he loses).

Now, if only you could tell me how to remember all these god-awful passwords that we keep getting inundated with . . .

There are 9 in total.

7 have been allocated (Evo, Boggo, Goodall, Baker, Corrie, JWH and Peliwo) and 2 are reserved for the play off winners.

Thanks RJA, I had something in the back of my mind that it was 9, so hoping still one spare. I hadn't counted Peliwo though.

Interesting I did read elsewhere that Peliwo was told that as 2012 Junior Champion he would get a QWC but had he made top 250 he would have received MDWC.

And poor, poor Josh; seemingly he had it absolutely done and dusted:

Wimbledon Q WC Play Offs: Willis bt Milton 67(1) 75 60 (recovering from 76 52 40-0 down)

Yes, got to be gutted for Josh though I think Marcus is probably more likely to pull off a surprise win in qualies and get a few ranking points if he actually gets there, so in that sense it's probably a good result.
