RE: Week 24 - ITF $50k - Nottingham, UK - Grass

I'm guessing if Amanda does well this week, she may we a Wimbledon MDQ WC. Looks like an out and out clay courter.

A forehand sprays wide from Alannah...

GSM Amanda Carreras 6-1 6-2

Alannah hit far too many errors and let far too many BPs pass her by. Having said that she has a nice forehand and solid serve so could improve...

Amanda was the better player. Steady from the back, brutal slice that works well on grass, very quick and able to attack with her forehand. Just that shakey serve to worry about...

Harriet Dart vs Noppawan Lerthcheewakarn (spelling??) next on court...

Fran went down an early break, recovered it only to be broken again and lose the first set 4-6. Her opponent is the girl who put Katy out of Roland Garros, and is playing her first ITF tournament on grass, so could be vulnerable.

Come on Fran :)

Fran seems to have taken the Amanda Elliott method of tennis. Hope she doesn't dissapear the same way.

Unranked Brits who picked up a point for winning R1:

3rd counters (& hence WTA rankings) for:

Nicole Peterson (6 pts)
Lauren McMinn (3 pts)

2nd counter for:

Harriet Dart (9 pts)

1st counters for:

Freya Christie
Sophie Watts
Lana Rush

N.B. I don't mean 1st/2nd/3rd counters ever, I am referring to the number of counting scores each player will have on Monday week.

I cant help but think this event really highlights how much we are struggling for any talent on the womens side.

Amanda and Fitzy joined Em in the final round. Sadly Anna Smith fell to Rodionova.

I think on the womens side we are struggling to back up the loss of Katie O'Brien, Naomi Cavaday and Georige Stoop.

And also the colapse in form of Mel South and Amanda Elliott.
