RE: Week 24 - ITF $50k - Nottingham, UK - Grass

Final is under way. The LTA official stream is not working; the usual alternatives have valid streams though.

Our wildcards did rather well in this event with 3 getting through the first round and one finally winning the event.

Not sure if anyone is following this - but Bally was 1-5 down in the first set and has fought back to 6-5*.

Great to see that the Bally fighting spirit hasn't waned!

While not at her best, Bally's experience and tactical play on grass are showing through in this match.

Majeric is really playing badly and making lots of unforced errors. This is for the taking for Elena

I missed seeing her win against the small yappy dog (apparently, she was making the same noises as she did when she lost to Tara in R1 last week), but it's been brilliant to see Bally have such a good week

That's Elena's 3rd ITF singles title in Nottingham (11th overall) - in fact, she has won her last 3 titles here.

Today's win will see her overtake Tara tomorrow (up from GB 6 to GB 4 because she had already overtaken Anne) and move into the 180s. She is also now just behind Tara in terms of 2013-only points.

Great to see from Bally !

I reckon she has a lot of determination to get herself back up the rankings, all the best to her.

Great effort from Bally this week. When she got into the top 50 it was largely off the back of weeks like this at the higher level ITF tournaments so good to she still has the ability to win these events.
Hopefully she also has the knack of getting favourable first round draws at Wimbledon and winning.

Didn't expect this week from Elena. Delighted and encouraged! biggrin
