Bally takes the set 6-0, a lot of errors from Burnett. Bally playing pretty solidly; using the sliced backhand effectively as she has all week

Good short spell for Bally before more rain came. She got to *2-0.

First set to Baltacha 6-0
Burnett has been atrocious since the resumption, and in truth, Elena had to do almost nothing to win those last 4 games. Not complaining.

Tougher in the second set, but Bally always a class above.
Plays Tadeja Majeric in the final. Every chance for a title now.

Well, Elena said in her interview last night that she thought she was particularly good at playing interrupted matches i.e. at staying focused and energetic even during all the down-time. And didn't she prove to be right . . .

So, let's hope there's a bit of light rain some time tomorrow . . .

Well you got your wish another rain delay and another Bally triumph 6-0 6-4biggrin

Bally started poorly, playing 3 or 4 levels lower than in the rest of the week, and was struggling to deal with Majeric at all.
1-5 was an accurate reflection of the match at that point.
Now playing well.
Impressive turn around.
7-5

Well done Elena!

That should give her lots of confidence heading to Wimbledon.
