That is a massive win. Glad his single handed backhand was useful at the death. I watched him working on that with Greg R at the La Manga training camp before Xmas. Big follow through seemed to be the key point that coach Greg was trying to get across.
And there is no doubt that JWH is a real athlete in the JWT mode.

And the point of the "big follow through" is .... what, exactly? Given that once you have hit the ball, your influence on its trajectory is diddley-squat.
It's rubbish, like so much of accepted tennis "wisdom". Take a look at Nadal's and Sharapova's forehands - practically all the time they use the "buggy-whip" follow-through, and not the classical follow-through, even when they're not brushing up over the ball.

Hmmm. Now you have put me on the spot. I am thinking of taking some tennis lessons myself and I am looking for a coach. So the big question is .... Ratty or Greg Rusedski ? Tough one that.
Whilst not being a coach myself, I would say that if you truncate the follow through, you increase the risk of decelerating through the impact of the ball, reducing topspin and control.
