I'm not viewing the match, but why make any such supposition? He's jumped up a step in class to a top-10 player who has won a major. There's little comparison between the very top and the rest; that's why they're at the very top.
PS: Puts Mr Bogdanovic's Wimbledon record -- not least his 4-6, 6-7(3), 4-6 against Nadal in 2006 -- into perspective.
Dan not playing badly, I think he's just trying a bit too hard. He's (understandably) trying to hit too many lines thinking it's the only way he'll win points. But he has fashioned some chances for himself.
I AM watching the match and there's no sign of that at all.
Dan was a little unlucky to get broken in his first service game (went for two clean winners that missed by an inch or two) and then looked a little rattled and rushed things a bit. Still playing well, in places, but Juan-Pablo is playing better - what can you say ?
