Looks like it was a good effort but Kyle comes up just short. He lost 6-4, 7-6(4)

Damn. But it sounds as though it was very competitive.

Did anyone manage to see the match on live stream anywhere ? And if so, how did Kyle play ?

There was no live stream. The idiots who run British tennis think it is acceptable to only have one televised / streamed court at an ATP event.

Hear, hear. Ridiculous.

NB Mahut made short shrift of the young American ranked 100 places higher than himself (although anyone who knows anything would have had Mahut as favourite).

Looking forward to Nicolas/Andy tomorrow.

I wonder if Mahut might be down for a wild card for a Wimbledon due to his history there.

The general assumption seems to be that it is a done deal.

I agree entirely. If the one of the reasons for offering WC to GB players is to attract more interest, it makes no sense whatsoever not at least have their matches live streamed on the internet.

And now we find out that Evans v Nieminen will not be on centre.

Mahut has had a terrible year, no way does he deserve one.

Just because he played the longest match ever doesn't mean he should be guaranteed a wild card every year.

What!! That's the match I most want to see. Evans in front of a big crowd may have had a chance. Not shoved away somewhere

Mind you, with it set to rain tomorrow, I'm not sure that scheduling will be the major issue.

NB Am I right that there was play all day, no problem, in Birmingham but large chunks of rain delay in Nottingham and London ?

They did have cameras on court 1 when Ward beat Mannarino to make the semi-finals, so it is possible.

Two years ago when Ward had his great run I think his quarter final was played on court 1, after rain played havoc with the schedule. The BBC managed to rig up a single camera in order to show the match. It really is beyond pathetic that two years later we still only have one streamed court at Queens while managing to stream 2 or 3 courts at the Nottingham challenger.

Dry all day in Birmingham aside from a bit of rain before play started. Nottingham was mostly dry but rain delayed the start and then caused two short delays. 3 doubles matches are still on court as of 8:45 but they should just about complete all matches.
