Just in case any of the girls are reading this thread, I am going for 48, with 4 comfortable straight set wins.

Good to see Laura sneak into the top 8 seeds and get a couple of extra days to return to full fitness. Hantuchova will have the advantage of having already played a match on grass though (assuming she wins). Heather also has a losing grass court H2H to even up and Czink is quite a decent player on grass.

Bamburac about to start.

Sabrina (the one most of us predicted to win the least games) lost the first 2 games against Rodionova but managed to get to deuce in both, which is quite impressive. She has won 40% of the 20 points played so far.

Rodionova leads 6-1 3-0, huge difference in class as you'd expect.

Sabrina lost 1 & 1, which means she outdid all our average predictions (mode 0, median 0.5, mean 1, ignoring Bob and those who didn't make individual predictions) and she won 33% of the points, so odd as it seems when a player had been fed 2 breadsticks, well done to her

I'm insulted wink

One of the other girls is going to have to win 7-6 6-7 7-6 for me to get my 48 games.  Not out of this yet biggrin

Winning games against a much stronger opponent usually comes down to having a good first service. Sabina won 50% of her 1st serves, Eden so far is winning 71%.

Eden is now getting a lot more 1st serves in but not winning as many points with them.

Ah well! It was a good theory while it lasted, Eden has now won a game mainly by winning more points on her 2nd service than her 1st.

Q1: (WC) Jessica REN (GBR) 1137 lost to Catalina CASTANO (COL) 167 [q14] (CH: 35 10/2006) by 2 & 1
Q1: (WC) Eden SILVA (GBR) 1145 lost to Sharon FICHMAN (CAN) 117 [q3] (CH: 114 08/2010) by 0 & 2
Q1: (WC) Sabrina BAMBURAC (GBR) 910 lost to Arina Rodionova (AUS) 135 [q7] (CH: 62 08/2010) by 1 & 1

So well done, RBBOT - 10 games it was. About 1 game more than the average of our estimates (ex-Bob) too.

I'd like to thank my manager, the coaching staff, my teachers, my family, and most importantly everyone who picked the other numbers so that 10 was the only one left by the time I got here!

Only 1 bagel as well as the breadsticks and sausage rolls. Nothing higher though but then the rankings gap was massive so well done anyway to the girls for doing better than expected.

You're being very charitable, because I hardly think the opponents would have been putting in 100%. I fail to see how anyone benefits from this farce.
