Matt Ebden has just disposed of Jesse Levine (3/WR90) by 5-7 6-3 6-2, so
QF: (WC) Dan Evans WR 299 vs Matt Ebden (AUS) WR 122
The seeds are dropping like flies today: Bemelmans saw off Ram (6) by 3 & 2, Reynolds dumped out Sela (2) by 3 & 1 & now Levine bites the dust! Only Matosevic (1), de Schepper (4) & Becker (7) left!

I think he will beat Brydan and get some healthy points this week. Not sure if he will go much further in this tournament though.
He needs good draws at Queens and Wimbledon to move up the rankings quickly, which he is very capable of and his results this season are showing this.
What we would like to see is his plans after Wimbledon as we know he doesn't like to travel and he will be a direct entry in challenger draws now and there aren't any more in the UK after Wimbledon(I think)
Could I suggest that Mr Evans entering into a twitter spat with Neil Harman at 12.37pm today when his match is scheduled for 12.30pm (the preceding match mid way into a third set).......is perhaps an inappropriate thing to do as preparation literally minutes before a big Challenger contest.
I completely agree with Dan's sentiments to Neil by the way (worth a look everyone), but surely the 30-45 minutes before a big pro match are better served by doing all the things that professionals are supposed to do before a big pro match.....which I assume doesn't involve tweeting.
....in essence Neil reminded the world that Dan had admitted "not being good at his job" by not working hard enough, so felt him being given a Queen's WC sent out the wrong message. My view is that Dan must have made some big promises to Leon et al when coming back into the DC team re his tournament schedule and his work ethic, and that these WCs were part of the deal struck by both sides.....Mr Harman: you may turn out to be right, but it should all be about the future, not the past....give him a chance.....if the leopard doesn't change his spots he will never be offered WCs again, but if he does everyone benefits
Dan will continue to be offered wild cards regardless of his attitude and behaviour because Leon cannot afford to lose Dan for Davis Cup ! It's a straightforward bribe folks !
Do people have any preference who wins this? I'm probably leaning slightly towards Dan (sorry!) but don't want to be too anti-Brydan as obviously I'm rooting for him in 99% of matches.

Dan - 100%
Like you, nothing to do with Anti-Brydan sentiment, but having been at the Ricoh for the Davis Cup and shouted myself hoarse for Dan, how could I support anyone else.

Given the way he seems to be playing, maybe he should do this more often
Different players have different ways of pysching themselves up !!

You're not wrong! 8 games in a row before Klein held serve. Stupid thing for Harman to say, roundly condemned for it (his own words) and he has now deleted the tweet, it would seem.
Excellent win and some good ranking points picked up. Will play Ebden or Levine in the next round and must have a reasonable chance of progressing further.
Will be GB no.3 shortly and a couple of wins in the next few weeks(Queens, Wimbledon, Eastbourne) will surely see him break into the top 200.
