Interesting! It seems that, even on clay, Llodra is not to be underestimated! He & Mahut overcame being a break down & eventually won by 4-6 7-6(3) 7-5, ergo
R3: Michaël Llodra & Nicolas Mahut (FRA/FRA) WR 115 vs Dominic Inglot & Treat Huey (PHI) WR 62
The boys have, I think, defended their 180 points from last year, when they took out Tecau & his then partner, Robert Lindstedt ( ), coincidentally also seeded fifth then, by 3 & 4 in the second round. Not sure how much heart they can take from that for the third round this year!
I don't see that not responding within 25 minutes is any sort of a problem.
I don't think even just acknowledging the result with a quick tweet or byline, or any token gesture as a placeholder to be fleshed out later, serves any real purpose except to sate the modern preoccupation with immediacy; we can do it now so, we must, apparently.
I'd much rather they waited hours if necessary and the eventual result was a factually correct and considered piece of substance and value rather than just an effective points scoring exercise - look! we reported it first here. That sort of thinking leads and to an interminable 24 hour News media, or more pertinently, events like the 'reporting yesterday on the BBC, posted very soon after the events, but with the detail wrong, and which was also castigated on these pages.
To expect the BBC, or any other broadcaster whose focus is not exclusively Tennis, to be reporting on and commentating on every detail and result of Tennis, or even GB Tennis within so short a time frame, even at a Grand Slam, is un-realistic. If Tennis has such service, then at least a dozen sports would merit the same coverage of constant vigilance and this probably requires somewhere close to a doubling of the number of correspondents.
Football? Well, the public have consistently and continually proven that they have a far far greater appetite, nigh on insatiable, for every level of football right down to the Blue Square and lower still. Several thousand actively want to know Dover Athletic's results, lamentably I don't think the same can be said of Dom's excellent R2 win unless it were at Wimbledon. Several thousand may certainly want to know the result, but, they don't actively seek it out with any urgency. Therefore, football can justify it's massively dis-proportionate allocation of resources, as serving the major public interest.
I like the BBC. I sometimes think I'm the only one left.
I seem to find myself disagreeing with more and more of the collectively received opinions at the moment. I must be getting very old.
Developing from another point raised above does anyone know what Mr. Overend is moving on to? I've presumed general presenting, as he has done quite a bit of filling in on topical current affairs programs for R5L. I'd like to see what he does next as I am an admirer of hos style.

Dom Inglot and partner being interviewed by Inverdale now
Interesting to see them both together at last (Dom with "all-American boy" Treat!). Inverdale goes one better than last year, when he interviewed only Dom. They're unlikely to be at Queen's because the draw's a bit too strong ( ), but could be seeded in, I think Dom said Halle, where TCH played last year with a different partner.

I agree with you if you are talking about a full report, but what I meant was it didn't appear on the BBC Roland Garros live updates for ages and none of the journos mentioned it on Twitter either - those are places where you would expect a quick mention.

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
Inglot is in an unusual position in that because the doubles scheduling is quite far behind, while he and Huey have defended their third round points (hurrah!) they have now lost the opportunity to defend their Nottingham CH win ... which is a bit awkward. Hope that they make this moot by winning the next round.
Wonder if Fleming/Marray will play Nottingham? Marray is defending finalist points there. Or are they too highly ranked to play?
