For future reference to anybody who cares about such things, Pol Toledo, as his Christian name would indicate, is Catalan, so if you insist on using the metro-/matronymic (I generally follow the practice of TeniSpain & use it only if the patronymic is so common that the mother's surname is needed to distinguish one player with the same patronymic from another), his full name is Pol Toledo Bagué.  Check his Twitter account (which I did on-line, as I, like Spectator, do not "follow" anyone!), if you don't believe me. wink

Hmmm.  A Catalan with the surname Toledo.  Is that like a Geordie with the surname of Liverpool ?

Ditto what Priesty said.  Well played Oli.

Good stuff from Oli. Big favourite on paper for the final, but the German took care of Alex very fairly comfortably in the first round, so not going to be the gimme which it appears to be.

Those Catalan names don't usually catch me out, but that one did (mainly because I didn't realise it was Catalan!)

Well, his Twitter feed (if that's the right word...) describes him as Jugador de tennis [spelt with only one "n" in castellano del R.C.T.B! A la Federació de Tennis Catalana! Barcelona & if Barcelona ain't in Catalunya, I don't know where is! wink

Excellent win. Becker is no mug though as Alex found out and Oli is under the weather.

Oli goes down 0-40, saves the first two break points but not the 3rd 1-3*

Oli saves another bp and holds, but has only won 3 points against the serve so far 2-4*

Becker holds to love, and is still creating all the chances having another bp but Oli is hanging in there 3-5*
